“Some chairs remain occupied long after the person sitting on them is gone.” Everyone , in their life must have come across an empty chair someday or the other , don't they? But have you ever wondered what's the story the empty chair has that remains unheard. To connect it more with you let me present a small fictional incident of an empty chair's journey in a father's sacrifices ; " Once upon a time there lived a family where the father was the only bread winner of the house. He had two sons and one daughter. It was difficult to handle everything with minimal salary , he managed to give the best life to his children although there were nights he used to sleep hungry. Years passed , the strongest of the hands got weak and he retired from the job . Now the children were well established . Both sons were government servants and the daughter became a renowned surgeon . Every evening he would sit on the same wooden chair waiting for his children to return from work. Some evenings they came home too tired to speak. Other evenings they walked past him while looking at their phones. Yet he smiled every single day. One day the elder son was expecting some visitors from abroad as he was throwing a party on the occasion of his promotion. His father is of now at his late 80s and was sitting on the same wooden chair which was a bit old . The visitors came enjoyed the party but made fun of his father and the way he was sitting. The children almost stopped talking to their father because they were ashamed of the society to call him their father after that incident . After six months , they decided to shift their father to an old age home as they thought he will be a burden to them if he keeps living in the house . Their father agreed to them and left quietly with teary eyes. Some months later , the owner of the old age home called the children to see their father a last time before he takes his last breath . The children rushed to their father , hoping that he must have kept something for them. But unfortunately the moment they reached he was no more . One day , while sitting alone the elder son was looking at the "empty wooden chair" where his father used to sit and realised his mistakes but there was no one whom he can seek forgiveness . " Thus , my request to everyone out there is to value a person when he's with you otherwise you will be left with the "empty chair" with no one to respond. The chair will be occupied by someone else someday but the emptiness still conquers over it as if it has many stories to share.
